Forecast Performance
How our Missouri fire-danger forecasts have compared to actual observed conditions, day by day.
What is being compared?
Each comparison pairs a forecast for a weather station and hour with the observation recorded at that same station and hour.
When is it measured?
Reports cover the primary fire-weather window from 10 AM through 10 PM Central and are generated after the day ends.
How should I read it?
Lower error is better. A positive bias means forecasts ran higher than observations; a negative bias means they ran lower.
